Prepare for your fitting appointment and then together we will make sure you find that one wedding gown, jumpsuit or bridal suit that you feel truly beautiful and completely yourself in!

Best Tip: Go to the best store for your wedding dress. Are you excited to make a fitting appointment right away? Then come and meet us first! https://calendly.com/pippibruidsmode/kennismakingsafspraak See you soon!

Tip 1. Know Your Style

Before you join our beautiful store, take the time to discover your personal style. Will you go classic, modern, boho or glam? You may not be able to describe your style exactly, but thinking about this and remembering when you found yourself really quite beautiful will also make it easier for you to find your ideal wedding dress, jumpsuit or perhaps wedding suit. Be honest with yourself. You know best when you feel most comfortable and what kind of clothing and look suits that.

Tip 2. Do Your Research

Browse bridal magazines, browse Pinterest and gather inspiration. This will give you an idea of what you like and what suits you. Of course, my most important tip here is: project those images onto yourself. No one has a photoshopped body, so stay honest with yourself. You don’t have to worry about that either, because every bride has a wedding dress to match and every bride can feel super beautiful in the right dress. Also remember that your partner loves you just the way you are! A good dress just makes you even more beautiful!

Eva Maria knew she didn’t want a traditional dress, but what then? It became this classic dress with lace biker jacket and cool booties!
Eline was afraid she wouldn’t find a nice dress with her larger size. She tried on this dress and knew immediately that this was her perfect dream dress! You can tell she felt wonderful!
Michelle wanted a dress with beautiful details. This dress with draped front and lace back was perfect! She was really beaming!

Tip 3. Be Openminded

Although you have an idea of what you want, be open to suggestions from our experienced stylists. Sometimes a dress you hadn’t thought of can capture your heart as soon as you put it on. This is not at all surprising considering that you do not have the overview of all the possibilities. We have, of course. At Pippi Bridal Fashion, we will work together to find the perfect outfit. But, only one person decides what she wants and that’s you: the bride! We will always give you plenty of room to explore for yourself what you like and you can therefore confidently make your own choice.

Tip 4. Start On Time (if you can!)

Schedule your appointment well in advance to avoid stress. That way, you have plenty of time to try on different styles and find your perfect dress. It’s fine if you come to pick out your dress more than six months before your wedding date. Many brands have a delivery time of 3-5 months. However, if you just have less time, for whatever reason, then we will just take a good look at what is possible. Sometimes that one dress just hangs in the store in (about) the right size and becomes your dream dress! Often we can still find the perfect dress in the suppliers’ stocks, and with a very creative cutter, much is also made possible for you. Either way, we always find a solution so that you shine at your wedding in the perfect wedding dress! Beautifully customized and completely the way you want it.

Marie was only able to look for her dream dress 3 weeks before her wedding. She wanted a really beautiful special dress so badly. When she saw these, she was sold. This was her dress. The dress was altered in no time and as you can see, Marie was beaming in her beautiful gown.
Filipina came into the store 2 months before her wedding. This dress was immediately her favorite, but not in stock in the right size. Fortunately, the supplier found the dress in the right size at another store and was able to pick it up and alter it immediately. And Filipina looked beautiful!

Tip 5. Take the Right Entourage With You

This is one of the tips that will ensure that picking out your wedding dress is truly a party. Choose a select group of people who respect your tastes and desires. Too large a group can lead to overwhelm and conflicting opinions. At Pippi Bridal Fashion, we actually always recommend bringing 2 or 3 people. People who know you well and can tell from you if you are comfortable. Are you afraid of passing people over if they can’t join you? Then just take them with you when you come to try on your dress with the seamstress later. You will definitely come back about 3 more times before your dress is perfectly tailored, so plenty of time to bring that one friend, aunt or mother-in-law!

Tip 6. Consider the Budget

Set a realistic budget and stick to it. At Pippi Bridal Fashion we have dresses lots of dresses in various price ranges, so you’re sure to find something that suits you. Most dresses cost between €1700 and €2700, including cutter fees. We wrote a whole blog about wedding dress prices and why they are so expensive. https://pippibruidsmode.nl/pippibruidsmode-nl-wat-kost-een-trouwjurk/. What is very important to realize: you only get married once, so allow yourself that one beautiful dress. You’ll look back on your wedding photos or video all your life and you’ll want to be proud of yourself. Even after 20 years. And not thinking, “If only I had…” It’s better to have a generous and realistic budget for your dress and cut back on something else, than to regret wrong frugality afterwards.

Tip 7. Consider the Comfort

You will spend all day in your dress, so comfort is essential. Choose a dress in which you feel comfortable and can move freely. For some it is in a tight dress and for others in a dress with a wide skirt. At Pippi Bridal Fashion, we make sure you “practice” with your dress. And that too is part of the super-tips! We’ll get you seated in your dress and walk up and down the stairs a few times. So that you can be sure that you are completely comfortable during the ceremony, that you can dance and eat and drink without any problems. And yes, we also always have tips for you on how to easily (and preferably alone) go to the bathroom!

Tip 8. Don’t Forget the Accessories

Accessories can complete your look. Try out different options, such as veil, jewelry, and shoes, to see what best suits you and your dress. At Pippi Bridal Fashion, we not only have great tips, we also have everything you need to complete your look. Cool jewelry, various types of veils, hats, shoes, scarves, jackets and, of course, lingerie. And what we don’t have, we can order for you. We at Pippi Bridal Fashion are open to everything, so we will never try to influence you. But, first find the dress and then the rest will come. You’ll have plenty of time for that, too!

Tip 9. Trust Your Instinct

Once you find the right dress, you’ll know. Trust your gut and don’t let others influence you. Of course, this does not mean that every bride here is crying in front of the mirror and every mother is crying in her daughter’s arms. No, it feels different for everyone. But, trust yourself. You’ll really know when you’ve found your perfect dress. Even if it is 3 sizes too small or in the wrong color, you really know if it is your dress. Still in doubt? Then it’s just not your dress yet and you need to keep looking. Sometimes we just don’t have the perfect dress in the store, but we know better and better what you’re looking for. At Pippi Bridal Fashion, we can then have some dresses “on view” from our suppliers. In 99% of cases, we then still find the perfect wedding dress that meets all the requirements and to which the bride then says “YES” without any doubt!

Tip 10. Be Prepared for Emotions

Choosing your wedding dress can evoke emotions, so be prepared for tears. Sometimes there are tears for the bride, sometimes for her guests and sometimes for all of them. At Pippi Bridal Fashion, we’re used to a bit and we don’t mind tears at all. The tissues are already on the table! If there is no crying, that’s fine too, of course. And honestly, that is at least as common. Usually the brides and her guests are just very happy and often relieved. Once you have found your dress (or jumpsuit or wedding suit of course), you also have the space in your head to start arranging the rest and thinking about accessories, for example.

Tip 11. Consider the Theme and Location

Consider the theme and/or desired atmosphere of your wedding and the venue when choosing your dress. You want to make sure your dress matches the mood of the day. This is not difficult at all. After all, whether something fits is entirely up to you. And maybe you don’t have a theme at all, but the party is just the most important part of the day. Then of course you choose a dress you can party in! There are also brides who want a dress they can change something to during the day so they have multiple looks. Think removable sleeves, a loose overskirt or a jacket. A veil or hat can also give your dress a whole different look. Or swap out your chic pumps for a pair of sandals or sneakers, and you’ll have an instant change of look as well. Many things are possible!

For her Las Vegas wedding, Tessa chose a light supple dress that could easily travel with her on the plane
For her beach wedding, Gwen chose a sleek dress with lace top and a playful short veil
For an impressive entrance on her horse, Kristel chose a dress with wide skirt

Tip 12. Listen To Our Experts

We have years of experience and know our collection like no other. Listen to our advice and be guided by our expertise. By doing so, you also discover opportunities that you yourself may not have thought of at all. We know if that dress is available with a different skirt or if some layers of tulle under the skirt can be omitted. We know if a sleeve can be made on the dress and which fabric would be the best. This is precisely our expertise, and we also like nothing better than helping you with it. Never feel burdened to enlist our help, we are very happy to do so.

Tip 13. Be Flexible

Sometimes not everything goes according to plan, and that’s okay. Be flexible and open to changes so that you eventually find the perfect dress. It sometimes happens that the bride has a dress or suit in her mind that is completely her ideal. During the fitting, it then turns out that this model does not fit her at all. This is then a great disappointment and sometimes very inconvenient. If you can’t shift gears then, we’d better stop and just schedule another appointment. Then you can let it sink in first and then go back to finding your perfect dress in good spirits. And it usually works out!

Tip 14. Enjoy the Process

Last but not least, don’t forget to enjoy the process! Finding your dream dress is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so make the most of it and create beautiful memories.
